Sajjra

Sajjra’s sound has the atmosphere of the slow and heavy Andean processions, keeping the spirit of their traditional music ensembles. But Sajjra also expresses the mesmeric feelings, that gives his birth-town Lima. Andean tropical psychedelia that fascinated the Peruvian alternative media, who choose Sajjra’s LPs The Sun Remains The Same (Aloardi / Fougere Musique, 2015) and Synthexcess (Buh, 2019) as albums of the year. It sounds can call forth the resonance of Andean brass orchestras or of sublime landscapes. They emanate textures and rhythms that evoke urban and rural soundscapes mutating in epiphanies full of noise, colour and trance.
