Manoir Molle

Marion Molle is an artist and composer from Ardèche, France. She composes music under the alias Manoir Molle, and is part of the duo Jean Marie Mercimek. Apart from making music, she works at the props department of a tv show, is organising an annual artist residency in the countryside where she is from, and sometimes paints.

Marion, Manoir: it seems to me that in this simple shift, this partial turning upside down, a new music resides. Not just a way of arranging sounds, but a way of making and practicing the world, of telling it in all its absurd fragmentation. As in all good storytelling, truth and reality don’t matter – these words, these laughs, this water, these animals, these notes, it’s all her; even if sometimes, it’s certainly not. Theatrical music without theater, audiobook without book, reproduction without first reference – poetry, in fact. Synthetic sounds meet those of the world, participate in them, and vice versa. Marion.noir Molle is an acousmate whose cause, even when grasped, escapes.
