Polifeme

“Polifeme” is a sound research proposal whose objective is to explore the different forms of musical creation through the sum of electromagnetic waves. Conventional analogical electronic devices such as radiotelevisions, light bulbs, calculators, plasma balls, etc… abandon their main function and interact forming a new instrument. A hybrid between music and science that reveals an invisible reality to which we are continuously exposed. A visual and sound experience that is created and manipulated live.

Over time, the main line of research has been acquiring multiple facets, although initially the focus was on the sound of the frequency environment that surrounds us, eventually turned to look at the “inner space”, the biological rhythm that moves us and is as primitive as the origin of life. Through the use of electrocardiographs and fetal monitors, she extracts, amplifies and imprints her pulse, revealing that we are rhythm and exploring the use of the heartbeat as a source for the control of rhythmic devices.
