Pyrolator

Specialist for music and computers. Co-founder of the record label, music studio & music publisher “atatak” (more than 150 releases since 1979). Founding member of the group “Deutsch-Amerikanische-Freundschaft”. Member of the groups “Fehlfarben”, “Der Plan” and solo as “Pyrolator”. He has produced more than 200 records and CDs and has worked on more than 100 releases as a composer, musician or software programmer. His main instruments are the synthesizers built by synthesizer pioneer Donal Buchla “Thunder & Lightning II”, built by synthesizer pioneer Donal Buchla, where the music is controlled by moving or pressing the hands. In recent years his focus has been on compositions with a modular synthesizer. Productions, concerts, workshops and installations since 1980 in Korea, Japan, USA, Argentina, West & North Africa, Central and Eastern Europe.

Kurt Dahlke is the dangerous clown of German machine music. He doesn’t just tickle the usual whistling and bubbling out of his sound generators, he also lets them trumpet, grunt and yip slyly at the turn of a knob. As a loyal tactile terrorist of the “Fehlfarben”, Dahlke writes punk rock history from 1979 onwards, jumpes the chinese avant-garde rope with “Der Plan”; at the same time, founds the luscious label “Ata Tak” and embezzles any expectations autistically as “Pyrolator” until today. He is a virtuoso master of the laser sword (a mysterious MIDI controller by synthesizer pioneer Don Buchla called “Lightning” with which he sensitively draws complex sound carpets into thin air. Kurt Dahlke is appreciated both at home and abroad as a constant conqueror of new artistic territory.
